How often do you hear: “I love my job”, “I love my company”, or “I’d love to learn more.” Our research indicates that these statements have never been more powerful than they are today, and they are music to the ears of any people-centered HR leader.

Our latest Humanizing HR study—the second in our State of Experience in the New World of Work series—shows that even as interaction channels and workplace expectations have shifted since the inaugural 2023 report, the HR relationship continues to be a powerful driver of the overall employment experience. Employees not only value HR’s influence on their day‑to‑day interactions but also see it as a key factor in shaping their loyalty to their employer. They increasingly expect HR interactions to feel personal, meaningful, and — reinforcing the importance of a human‑centered approach, even as organizations adopt more digital‑first models.

In partnership with Mercer, Conduent conducted employee and HR organization research studies to learn about the state of EX, what defines exceptional EX today and the gaps that have emerged between employee expectations and HR capabilities today and changes across time.

2025 survey participation included 765 employees and 254 HR organization leaders. HR survey respondents represented 3 markets, with most participants based in North America. 62% of HR organizations represented operate in multiple countries.
